Archbishop Alan Harper

Archbishop Harper was elected and enthroned as Primate of All Ireland and Metropolitan early in 2007. Ordained in 1978 he had previously been an archaeologist. He has served in Derry and Raphoe Dioceses and in Connor Diocese where he was also Bishop for five years before coming to Armagh.


Dean: The Very Rev Gregory Dunstan

Gregory Dunstan was installed as Dean of St Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday 4th. December 2011. Canon Dunstan had been rector of St Matthew’s since 1993 and was elected to a chapter canonry of St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin in 2007. Formerly a landscape architect, The Dean trained at the Church of Ireland Theological College and Trinity College Dublin, and was ordained for the curacy of Ballymena in 1990.


Rev Grace Clunie

Rev Grace Clunie has been the Director of Celtic Spirituality since 2007. Previous to this appointment, Grace was the Rector of St Nicholas’ Belfast.


Organist: Theo Saunders

Theo comes from Leicester where he served as organist at St. James the Greater for eleven years prior to his present appointment. A graduate of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, the Cathedral’s Organist enjoys living in Armagh and feels very much at home in the city.


Admin Officer: Miss Lorraine Frazer

Lorraine has been the Cathedral Admin Officer since 1997. She assists the Dean with all of the administration for the Cathedral.


Verger: Mr David Bingham

David has been the Dean’s Verger since his appointment in Autumn 2008. He is an Armagh man who takes great pride in his duties at the Cathedral. Visitors will find him most welcoming.


Cathedral Steward: Mr Leigh Vage

Leigh was appointed in February 2009 to the post of Cathedral Steward. His duties include conducting tours, managing the Cathedral Shop, family history searches, and providing a warm welcome to all who use the Cathedral.


Cathedral Reader: Mrs Betty Beamish

Mrs Betty Beamish was commissioned in January 2011 as a Cathedral Reader.
